Denai Kulcsar Interiors
Luxury is defined by comfort and to me, creating a comfortable space is my primary concern in designing an interior. A sense of comfort and relaxation is achieved by successfully combining different textures, a complimentary palette and attention to detail.
For nearly 20 years I have been designing interiors to soothe the soul and evoke a strong sense of harmony and tranquillity. I don’t subscribe to one particular style, preferring to be fluid so that the newly created interiors don’t necessarily fit into a predictable mould. My repertoire includes the Hamptons, Hollywood glamour, Parisian chic, contemporary and classic. I love adding a surprise element to create interiors with a touch of unique style to truly embrace ‘old meets new’.
I feel that the most important ingredient to a beautiful interior is the successful partnership between my client and myself. The space is a reflection of the client’s personality and style and my aim is to seamlessly meld it all together, so as to echo my client’s desires.
My surroundings, from coffee table books, local and international magazines, travel and most importantly time spent in the country, where my creativity is uninterrupted by the chaos of the city, influence my sense of style. My aim is not to leave my own stamp but to design a sumptuous interior to be enjoyed by clients, their families and friends.
Velvet Style: Lifestyle Blog
Velvet Style began because sadly in July 2015 I lost my beautiful dad to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). When dad died a part of me also died with him. I was very lost and some days I found it hard to even get out of bed. I do have three beautiful children and a gorgeous husband however a part of me was missing.
Writing has become my “me time”. I find myself writing every spare minute I get. Even at night when I can’t sleep I write. Writing has helped me get through one of the toughest times in my life and has also taught me so much about myself that I didn’t really know.
Blogging is somewhere I am able to heal and find “me” again.
I am a busy working mum, and there are plenty of stories to tell! I love to share and I write about:
• how I juggle my family and my interior design business
• how to stay stylish and care for yourself, and why it is so important
• interiors (inspiration, knowledge and tips)
• health (and cancer)
• family life (the real stories of dealing with teenagers, boys, sport, losing a parent, siblings relationships, cooking, cleaning, etc)
My blog is a very honest collection of stories of what's happening in my life.
