A DAY IN THE Southern Highlands

Last week I was down in the Southern Highlands for a meeting. I decided to spend the rest of my day exploring, something I haven't done for a while and there was plenty to see.

The Acre on the corner of Bong Bong and Banyette Streets Bowral has a lot to offer. The building was formerly Dirty Janes Emporium and has recently been refurbished.

It has a new Dirty Janes full of treasures and the whimsical Tea Salon. At the front there is Bespoke Letterpress, where I picked up some beautiful stationery and The Press Shop Cafe for great coffee and food.

Harmoniously between the two sits Green Lane where you'll find The Potting Shed and Harrys Wine Bar & Bistro where we stopped for a delicious lunch - I could have sat there all afternoon people watching.

The Bronte Tram on Wingecarribee Street is always worth a visit in store or online as well. I am a little sad they are no longer in Bronte, Sydney.

In Mossvale Suzie Anderson Home has become a destination offering a great collection of homewares. This is one shop you will not leave without buying a special something for your home.

Next door you'll find the Highlands Merchant for when you need a coffee or something to eat. For us it was afternoon tea time. We enjoyed the most delicious carrot cake, sticky date pudding cake, tea and coffee.
